West Bromwich Albion preview vs Sheffield United (A)

Friday 14th December, Bramall Lane. 8:00pm.

West Bromwich Albion will be looking to build on their controversial 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last Friday as they take on another promotion rival in Sheffield United on Friday night.

Jay Rodriguez struck a late equaliser with Albion, despite the ball seeming to hit his hand before going in.

The derby day draw means Darren Moore’s side head to Yorkshire five games unbeaten.

Following a really strong start to the campaign, Sheffield United have seemed to go off the boil in recent weeks.

A 2-0 victory away at Reading last Saturday evening means that Chris Wilder’s men have jumped back into 3rd in the Championship.

Both sides know that a win is huge if they are to stay in the play-offs going into a busy festive period.

Team news:

West Brom:

Kyle Bartley is again set to miss out on the game through injury. Albion are awaiting news on Hal Robson-Kanu and James Morrison who missed the home game with Villa with slight knocks.

Sheffield United:

Ben Woodburn is the only absentee for the home side. Striker Leon Clarke returned in their last game against Reading.

Predicted line-ups:

Albion: Johnstone; Adarabioyo, Dawson, Hegazi, Gibbs; Livermore, Barry, Phillips; Barnes, Gayle, Rodriguez.

Blades: Henderson; Basham, Egan, O’Connell; Baldock, Lundstrum, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens; McGoldrick, Washington.

Prediction:

Just like last Friday this will be a real tough test for Albion. But Darren Moore’s men have performed well against the top sides in recent weeks. This will be a similar side and system that took to the pitch in a 4-1 win against Leeds United. I’m hoping Albion will play well enough and have enough quality in the side to get all three points. 2-1 Albion.

Boing Boing.
