Ahead of the gruelling experience of a trip to The Den, City will be hopeful of continuing an improved run of form in what is arguably the most important fixture so far this season.
For the first time this campaign, It finally feels like we’re edging closer to finding our best XI, perhaps with the absence of one or two, but it’s certainly a team capable of challenging at this level.
The key issue so far has been finding a balance between playing fluid attacking football without shipping goals left, right and centre. Which consequently led to a more defensive approach where no attacking threat was posed.
With our wide men firing on all cylinders, Campbell chipping in consistently and a midfield that has quality at both ends of the pitch. A slightly more compact back line is the only thing preventing us from really pushing on. Thankfully, Marshall has been on hand to prevent us going into free fall also.
Millwall currently sit 22nd in the league but with an undoubted wealth of Championship quality you’d expect to find their way further up the table come the end of the season.
Furthermore, with a winless streak of five it would come as no surprise if they claimed at least a point if not all three this Saturday.
As an optimist as far as Hull fans go, it is difficult to escape the fact that these are exactly the sort of games we fall short.
Their best football is still on standby at this stage of the season so let’s just hope it stays that way for at least one game longer.
