Lincoln City will face Carlisle United for the second time at Sincil Bank this season when the Cumbrians travel down to contest in this FA Cup second round tie.
The Imps moved down to second in Sky Bet League Two after only managing a 1-1 draw away at Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night.
A night of drama included a game ending injury to Dan Gardner, a straight red card for Ishmael Miller and a lot of chances.
Michael O’Connor’s third of the season just five minutes after Oldham had taken the lead gave the Imps a share of the spoils.
The Imps just about squeezed past Northampton Town in the previous round of the FA Cup, with a 3-2 win against the Cobblers.
Harry Anderson and Tom Pett put the Imps in cruise control before Jack Bridge and Kevin van Veen levelled the tie. But former Boreham Wood hitman Bruno Andrade grabbed the game by the scruff of it’s neck and produced a stunning strike to send the Imps into the hat for the second round.
11th placed Carlisle were also able to pick up a point on the road on Tuesday night, drawing 1-1 with strugglers Notts County.
Elliott Hewitt put the Magpies ahead with half an hour to play but on loan Rotherham forward Jerry Yates equalised with six minute left to go.
Carlisle earned their place in the second round with a 1-0 away win over fellow Sky Bet League Two side Crewe.
Jamie Devitt’s 90th minute strike was enough to stop the tie heading for a replay.
