Lincoln City will travel to Oldham on Tuesday night looking to extend their lead at the top of the Sky Bet League Two table.
The Imps temporarily went back to the top of the table after their 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town on Saturday.
But, with MK Dons’ failure to get a result at Stevenage, the Imps remain top of the table going into the tie at Boundary Park.
Oldham are sat in 13th position, with perhaps a season of stability following their relegation last season.
The last of their points came on Saturday as they claimed an away point of their own. A 1-1 draw at Tranmere.
Johan Branger put the Latics ahead just before the break but the newly promoted side clawed their way back into it through a Connor Jennings free-kick.
The last time these two met each other was in the FA Cup when the two teams were two divisions apart.
Theo Robinson scored either side of a Terry Hawkridge strike to put the Imps 3-0 up. But Peter Clarke and Billy McKay put the pressure on and scored two quickfire goals.
But the Imps were able to hold out and secure the victory to set up a third round tie against Ipswich Town.
