Rampant West Brom stop Leeds returning to the top of the Championship in 4-1 win.
West Brom came out the blocks firing, a quick flurry of chances came within the first 10 minutes.
Robson-Kanu received the ball out on the right of the box and managed to power his way past two challenges but his curled effort went just inches over.
Failing to get a grip of the game Leeds almost conceded from another set-piece when Adeyabrabio’s volley from a Baggies knockdown flew inches past the right hand post.
Jay Rodriguez then had two clear chances, firstly when he was played through and his shot from just inside the box was parried away by Peacock-Farrell, but the second chance was the closest either team came to scoring in the half a curled shot from just out side the box cannoned of the top of the crossbar.
Leeds finally got a grip of the game in the last 10 minutes and had one clear chance, after great link up play from Alioski and Douglas the low cross from the Macedonian was met by Klich in front of goal who could only fire a shot at Johnston in the West Brom goal.
A poor half for the Whites who are very lucky not to be behind.
The first real action of the second-half saw Bailey Peacock-Farrell pick the ball out of his net as Robson-Kanu fired a low strike past the keeper following a direct break from the home side. Killing any Leeds momentum in the game.
A Poor night got even worse for Leeds as Klich got caught in possession 30-yards-out by Matt Phillips, the Scotsman then let fly from 25 yards past the keeper. Peacock-Farrell should’ve done better.
Leeds pushed but created very little and in a matter of two minutes Leeds found themselves 4-0 down. Two rapid fire goals from Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle put to bed any chance of a Leeds comeback.
First after a great press from Adeyarabio and pass found its way to Barnes who passed the ball past Peacock-Farrell in the one-on-one. A minute later after a poor restart Rodriguez drove at the defence and his shot bounced of a Leeds player into the path of Gayle whose back heel bounced in.
A late consolation goal was scored by Pablo Hernandez from a dinked pass by Saiz. His header floated perfectly over Johnston and stops West Brom from getting their second clean sheet of the season.
A game in which Leeds were bullied from start to finish the men from Yorkshire were pressed high and made too many mistakes which were capitalised well on, looked very off the pace today and nothing came off for them.
