Oldham Athletic Preview vs Notts County (A)

Oldham are on the road again in a midweek clash with Notts County at Meadow Lane on Tuesday as they aim to get back up the table.

It could be said that Oldham were unlucky to lose to Stevenage as they fell 3-2 in the last ten minutes.

Some would say that it sums up the clubs season so far with promise but no real end result.

The club sit in 17th position desperately looking for a haul of points in a rearranged clash.

Notts County similarly haven’t had the best of times and sit 22nd in the league at the moment.

This could be an important result then for the Latics if they can get it.

In terms of team news, the defence as the usual will be likely George Edmundson, Peter Clarke as well as Tom Hamer and Rob Hunt.

Cameron Dummigan could come back in but Bunn will likely stick with the usual back four.

Midfield wise, Jordan Lyden could be given a start after coming off the bench on Saturday but like the defence Dan Gardner and Christopher Missilou will likely be the first games on the teamsheet.

Up front, Ishmael Miller has been in good form as of late and will likely start.

Sam Surridge will likely be a few weeks away so it will be important for the experienced striker to stay on form.

Callum Lang as well scored on Saturday and might start alongside Miller and potentially Chris O’Grady.

Or just in a front two with Miller but it will likely be those three involved either from the start or off the bench.

Predicted XI:

Iversen, Hamer, Edmundson, Clarke, Hunt, Missilou, Gardner, Nepomuceno, Miller, Lang, O’Grady

Oldham 1-0 Notts County

I predict a slim win for the Latics that takes the pressure off Frankie Bunn. It is a game though that with both clubs not in great form could go either way in the end. Expect Ishmael Miller to potentially score again as well.
