Top-of-the-table Sheffield United take on a rejuvenated Nottingham Forest in this battle in the Sky Bet Championship. As the Blades look to get back to winning ways on the road, whilst Nottingham Forest will search for their first home win the three matches.
Chris Wilder has been forced in to changes and could rest other keys players in preparation for next Fridays steel city Derby. David McGoldrick and John Fleck being two names who are under threat of suspension should they receive a booking, which would be their fifth in the league, and result in them missing the encounter with Sheffield Wednesday next Friday.
Wilder may also ponder changes and rest key players in the hope that it gives them fresh legs for next weekend. Billy Sharp, Mark Duffy and Kieron Freeman may be rested also.
Nottingham Forest, the big money spenders back in the summer, have rekindled the kind of form they have shown in seasons gone by and the kind of performances we have become expected to see. However, after being robbed of a win by a blatant handball from Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe, Aitor Karanka will be hoping his side will be taking all three points in the tie against the Blades.
- Nottingham Forest have only won two of their last 11 meetings with Sheffield United in all competitions – however one of those victories came in this fixture last season
- Only 18 goals have been scored in the previous 11 meetings between these sides
- There have been three 0 – 0 draws in the previous seven league encounters between these two sides
Nottingham Forest 1 – 1 Sheffield United
Personally I think both sides pose a threat in front of goal but have frailities at the back. Chris Wilder with his ‘we will score more goals than you’ philosophy makes for entertaining footballer, but with Lewis Grabban up front, Aitor Karanka should be confident his team can also pose a threat up top.
