Leeds United Preview vs Nottingham Forest

Leeds host Forest at Elland Road on saturday, with the Whites hoping to pick 6 points from a possible 9 this week.

One game is not enough to say that Leeds are back to their best but the dominant performance over bottom side Ipswich has definitely lifted belief all around the club.

The return of Pablo Hernandez has been a gift, providing two assists and looking the best player on he pitch for 90 minutes it’s  been clear that he has been what’s missing in recent weeks.

The cross he provided for Roofe was a touch of class, picking it up wide in the right he swung in an inch perfect cross onto Roofes head. Finally Leeds have a final ball.

This weekends opponents spent a lot of money in the summer on foreign players. Following the Wolves style project. Unlike last years champions Forest haven’t quite clicked.

Under the management of Aitor Karanka, Forest are 7th in the league but have struggled away from home only winning two out of their seven away games. They have only lost one of their last five games, the only loss coming to inform side Norwich.

Lewis Grabban has been on top form as of late scoring 6 in his last 5. Most recently he managed to grab a brace at struggling side Bolton. Grabban has been a a constant performer in the Championship for years now.

A mix of pace and high attacking IQ means that Grabban always finds himself in the right position from a cross or if the ball is in and around the box.

Following the performance on Wednesday it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bielsa keeps the same starting lineup bar Berardi.

Berardi picked up a muscular injury mid way through the first half so expect Jansson to return from his one match ban to slot into the right centre back role in a back three.
