Bristol City will host Stoke City on Saturday afternoon after a narrow 1-0 win against Hull City on Tuesday evening.
Tuesday saw a 93rd minute Famara Diedhiou header hand the Robins the three points; ending a lacklustre run of form for Lee Johnson’s side.
City have won just twice against Stoke this decade, one of which was en route to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup last season. The Robins are also unbeaten against Stoke at Ashton Gate since 2000, despite just playing on three occasions at home against the club.
Stoke currently sit in 17th and five points below Lee Johnson’s side, after a disappointing start to life back in the Championship following relegation from the top tier of English football last season.
City’s Nikki Maenpaa, Frank Fielding and Korey Smith will return on the sidelines with the trio recovering from various injuries. With City’s two first choice goalkeepers remaining injured, Bristol-born Max O’Leary will be between the posts once again after keeping two clean sheets in his first two league starts for Bristol City.
Once again, City will be hoping to ensure another victory which will make it three on the spin, though, they will also be hoping to do so in a much more convincing way than they did on Tuesday and last weekend.
Prediction: 2-0 Bristol City
Predicted Lineup: O’Leary; Hunt, Webster, Kelly, Dasilva; Eliasson, Brownhill, Pack, Patterson; Weimann, Diedhiou
