West Bromwich Albion Preview vs Reading (H)

Saturday 6th October 2018, The Hawthorns. 3:00pm.

West Brom will look to extend their unbeaten league run to seven games as they entertain Reading on Saturday.

The Baggies fought back from two down to earn a point against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

A Joey Pelupessy own goal and a fantastic solo goal from Harvey Barnes ensured Albion head into Saturday’s game just one point off top spot in the Championship.

For Reading it has been a slow start to the season. Just two wins so far leaves Paul Clement’s side sitting in 20th place.

The Royals will be hoping to amend from their midweek disappointment after losing one-nil to Queens Park Rangers at home.

Team news:

West Bromwich Albion:

Darren Moore will be hoping that regular wing-back Matty Phillips will be fit to face Reading after missing games against Preston and Sheffield Wednesday through injury. James Morrison will more than likely miss out again as he regains his fitness. Dwight Gayle is expected to be fit after getting through 60 minutes on Wednesday. It is still to be seen if Bakary Sako has proved enough to get himself into the matchday squad after signing on Tuesday.

Reading:

Garath McCleary, David Myler and former Baggie Paul McShane are all expected to be fit for Saturday’s game after building up their fitness. John O’Shea is available again after his suspension.

Predicted line-ups:

West Brom: Johnstone, Dawson, Hegazi, Bartley; Phillips, Livermore, Brunt, Gibbs; Barnes; Gayle, Rodriguez.

Reading: Walker; Gunter, O’Shea, Moore, Yiadom; Bacuna, Kelly, Ezatolahi, Aluko; Meite, Barrow.

Prediction:

I can only see a one way result in this one. Albion are in form and look like they have goals coming from anywhere. Darren Moore’s men will want to get into the top 2 going into the international break. I’m going for a 3-1 Albion win with the attacking front three of Gayle, Rodriguez and Barnes getting on the scoresheet.

Boing Boing.
