Lincoln City will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they face Crewe Alexandra at Sincil Bank.
The Imps lost just their second game of the season on Tuesday night as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers.
Lincoln had dominated the first half with John Akinde and Shay McCartan both going close on several occasions.
But Tranmere transformed after the break and were able to make home advantage count. James Norwood added his 8th in what has been a prolific campaign.
Despite the defeat, a lot of Lincoln’s title rivals failed to capitalise with Newport only managing to grab a draw with Macclesfield.
Opponents Crewe currently sit in 17th place having only won three times all season. Dave Artell’s men have been inconsistent so far this term and haven’t managed a win on the road this season.
Their last game was a 1-0 victory over Swindon on Tuesday night with Charlie Kirk scoring this third of the season to bag the points.
Danny Cowley and his side will feel that they owe Crewe one after the tie at Sincil Bank last season.
In what was the Imps’ worst home display of the season, Crewe ran away with a 4-1 victory.
Jordan Bowery bagged a brace with Harry Pickering and Paul Green both cancelling out Michael Bostwick’s opener.
