Bristol City Preview vs Sheffield Wednesday (H)

Lee Johnson’s Bristol City will be looking to bounce back from a five-game winless run as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Ashton Gate on Sunday afternoon.

The Robins have undergone a dismal run of form after defeats away at West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic being followed up with draws against both Aston Villa and Rotherham United.

Sheffield Wednesday will be fresh from a 2-2 draw at home to West Brom on Tuesday evening with Adam Reach scoring yet another outstanding strike after a thriller against Aston Villa in Birmingham.

City have lost on just four occasions against Wednesday since 2015 in 16 matches played and haven’t lost at home against the Owls for seven years.

Andreas Weimann is still yet to get on the scoresheet for over a month with Lee Johnson still unsure who to partner the Austrian upfront with Famara Diedhiou and Matty Taylor sharing the honour over the last few competitive games.

Callum O’Dowda will be hoping to get under start under his belt after being elected to represent the Republic of Ireland in the upcoming international matches while Josh Brownhill will be fresh from winning the September Fans’ Moment of the Month for September.

The match will be once again shown live on Sky Sports Red Button and is much win match for Bristol City going into the second international break of the campaign.

Prediction: 2-1 Bristol City

Preferred Lineup: Maenpaa; Hunt, Webster, Baker, Kelly; Watkins, Pack, Brownhill, O’Dowda, Weimann, Taylor
