Wednesday 3rd October, Hillsborough. 7:45pm.
West Brom will be hoping to extend their stay at the top of the Championship table as they head to the steel city on Wednesday evening.
The Baggies have won 4 out of their last 5 Championship games which has seen them reach top spot.
Their hosts, Sheffield Wednesday, have seen their fortunes turn getting a victory at Villa Park along with picking up a point against early form-setters Leeds United.
Despite Albion currently topping the table, they could start outside the automatic promotion places if results go against them on Tuesday.
West Brom will be hoping that strike partners Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle will continue their goal scoring form with 13 goals between them.
West Bromwich Albion:
Darren Moore will be hoping that Matty Phillips will pass a late fitness test and return to first team action after missing the victory over Preston on Saturday. There are no fresh injury worries with Dwight Gayle being taken off at Deepdale as nothing more than a precaution.
The Owls will still be without midfielder Kieran Lee, star-man Barry Bannan., and defender Joost van Aken but Wednesday will have a strong squad apart from that.
West Brom: Johnstone; Dawson, Hegazi, Bartley; Phillips, Livermore, Brunt, Gibbs; Barnes; Rodriguez, Gayle.
Sheff Weds: Dawson; Lees, Hector, Thorniley; Baker, Pelupessy, Onomah, Penney; Reach, Fletcher, Forestieri.
I think this will be a real tough test for Albion especially with Wednesday taking points off of other good sides in Villa and Leeds. The games may start to be coming too fast for Albion and they may have to settle for a draw at Hillsborough, so I’m going for a 1-1 draw with Gayle bagging for the Baggies.
