Can Leeds Bounce Back From First Defeat Against Wednesday

Leeds travel away to Hillsbrough on Friday night looking to bounce back from their defeat to Birmingham.

Following their defeat to Birmingham, Bielsa has admitted that the defeat was all down to him stating: “ I made a mistake.” He then carried on to say that he should’ve used a used a different formation and that Phillips suffered for his mess up.

Fridays game will be a big one for Phillips, this has been the second time that the academy graduate has been subbed before half-time. On his day he is arguably one of the best holding midfielder in the Championship but when he is over exposed against teams with a high press he seems to go missing.

The Sheffield Wednesday of late have turned a corner and started picking up decent results. Beating Aston Villa 2-1 in their last outing.

In order for Wednesday to challenge the league leaders they are going to have to ploy the same tactics as Birmingham and give Leeds the minimal amount of time on the ball.

Being early promotion favourites has put a huge target on the Yorkshire outfit’s back, but the performance have come at a surprise for some, as no one expected them to pick up Bielsa ball as quick as they have.

Players like Klich, Phillips and Roofe have all come into their own under Bielsa, keeping the likes of Bamford and Foreshaw out of the team. Recent injuries to Bamford and Roofe have not been a huge issue as Roberts has taken the step up and thrived showing how Bielsa’s style of play has transferred to all the players.
