It was another night to forgot for the Potters as they fell victim to a clinical Blackburn side.
Stoke manager Gary Rowett was left furious, after an abysmal performance against Blackburn saw the Potters yet again lose to a newly promoted side, at home.
A terrible first-half which saw Stoke attempt no shots on target got worse when Bradley Dack ghosted through Stoke’s defence, leaving him with an easy finish. Stoke’s first-half got even worse when the players seemingly stopped, appealing for an offside call that never came. Danny Graham however, certainly didn’t stop, putting Blackburn two up.
Going into the second-half you would’ve thought that Stoke would be much improved. But within a minute the damage was made even worse, as Blackburn basically walked the ball into the Stoke net.
There was a late response from Stoke, which saw two quick fire goals from impressive substitute Sadio Berahino and Tom Ince. With a chance to even nick a draw with a late penalty being wasted, it summed up another grim afternoon for Stoke.
Rowett went on a scathing attack of his more senior players at the end of the game, with the likes of Shawcross, Allen and Bauer getting heavily criticised.
With a game round the corner on Tuesday there’s no doubt Rowett will be making wholesale changes, giving players a huge chance to earn a permanent spot in the starting eleven.
