We’re five games into the Premier League season and the Eagles sit 12th with two wins and three losses.
Palace were victorious in their last league game, winning 1-0 against Huddersfield Town thanks to a goal from star-man Wilfried Zaha.
Roy Hodgson’s team face a struggling Newcastle United this weekend. The Magpies come into the game off the back of four consecutive defeats. Three of those defeat were in the league, most recently a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal.
The Eagles will be hoping that Newcastle’s poor performances will continue into this weekend’s game in order to get their 100th Premier League victory and 200th victory in the top-flight.
Christian Benteke (knee) is the only player unavailable for the game.
Despite being forced off injured at half-time against Arsenal last weekend, Jamaal Lascelles has been deemed fit to play by Rafa Benitez.
Benitez has also confirmed that Jonjo Shelvey is fit to play.
Florian Lejeune is unavailable due to a long-term knee issue.
Predicted XI (4-3-3):
RB| A. Wan-Bissaka
LB| P. van Aanholt
RW | A.Townsend
With Newcastle’s current poor form and Palace having the momentum going into this game, I can’t see anything but a win for the London outfit.
I predict a 2-1 win for the home side with Zaha and Milivojevic getting the goals.
