Rotherham United Preview vs Derby County

Rotherham United return to action following the international break with a game against Frank Lampard’s Derby County at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Speaking to the clubs iFollow service previewing the game manager Paul Warne on team news said:  “We’ve got a few issues. Sean (Raggett) will be missing for a while.

We’ve had a bit of a problem with Robbo (Clark Robertson) and we’ll know the severity of that in a couple of hours.

Newelly (Joe Newell) has been struggling with his hip. We’ve reduced his training a bit.”

The Rotherham gaffer spoke about Joe Newell and said: “He could play through it. He’s been managing it but it’s got to a stage where we had a window of opportunity.”

Warne also gave an update on Billy Jones and Sean Raggett’s situations, on Jones he said: “He’s good. The rest of them are all fighting fit and will compete for spots.”

Whilst on Raggett, Warne revealed: “His operation went well. At one stage we thought he’d be out until February but we’re hopeful it will be December now. It’s sad for him and us, but it’s next man up.”

The Millers head into this game on the back of losing 1-0 at Wigan just before the international break and Warne will be hoping to return to winning ways sooner rather than later.

The Opposition:

Derby County head into this game with four straight wins behind them and winning 2-1 at Hull City last time out winning two of their opening three league away games and Frank Lampard could see this being a tough game to get a win.

Predicted XI:

Rotherham United: Rodak; Vyner Ajayi Wood Mattock; Williams Manning Palmer Vaulks Taylor; Smith.

Derby County: Carson; Malone, Tomori, Keogh, Wisdom; Mount, Bryson, Johnson; Jozefzoon, Nugent, Waghorn.

Rotherham United 1-2 Derby County:

I’ve been impressed with the performances since the Rams lost to Leeds and I believe they will prove to be too much for Rotherham and will claim the win in this encounter.
