As the international breaks draws to close and domestic football returns, Lee Johnson’s Bristol City will be preparing for a home tie, as they host Sheffield United at Ashton Gate on Sunday afternoon.
City will go into Saturday’s thrilling off the back of a trio of wins, the most recent being a 4-1 demolishing of Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers.
The Robins have a poor record against The Blades to say at the least as they have won just four games against Sheffield United in since 2007 and have met the club on 14 occasions.
City currently sit sixth in the Championship table after six games with their opponents for Saturday’s game being positioned in third after winning four matches already this season.
Billy Sharp will be the one for the City defence to keep an eye on, with the Englishman already bagging four goals this season. Liverpool loanee Ben Woodburn will also be one to watch as the Welshman has already appeared eight times for his country and six times for Liverpool.
Lloyd Kelly will be fresh from his European Elite League exploits with England U20s during the international break while Famara Diedhiou will be hoping to continue his goalscoring form after netting in his first game back after an undeserved six-match ban.
Andreas Weimann, who is now a serious contender for the golden boot award, was voted for the August Player of the Month award but was denied the prize by Kemar Roofe of Leeds United. He will be back in action on Saturday after not being included in Austria’s squad throughout the international break.
It is set to be a thrilling affair on Saturday afternoon in BS3 and it will also be a very tough game for The Robins, but one they can most definitely come out on top of.
Prediction: Bristol City 2-1 Sheffield United
