Ipswich’s Winless Run Continues As Norwich Leave With A Point.

The east Anglian Derby is one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, Ipswich Town and Norwich City battled to a draw this past weekend.

Ipswich went into the game still without a competitive win this season, new boss Paul Hurst made a few last minute loan signings in preparation for the fixture. Two of the signings were definitely in contention for man of the match during Sunday’s derby as Jon Walters assisted the Blues’ goal and Matthew Pennington showed why he deserves a place in parent club Everton’s team.

Norwich on the other hand went into the fixture with just the one win so far, sitting 17th before and after the game means they’re in the exact same position as they were one year ago. Moritz Leitner scored his first goals for the club during the match, but the draw means Norwich have gone 11 league away games without a win.

Now that the international break interrupts the top leagues of football around the world, it’ll be good to see how Paul Hurst will try to improve his squad, Walters was very much helping the youngsters of Ipswich improve on the pitch and it definitely showed.

Ipswich next play in two weeks, away to Hull City on Saturday 15 September.
