Rotherham United Preview Vs Wigan Athletic

Rotherham United will head into the game with Wigan Athletic on Saturday on the back of a professional and good performance at Everton even though they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup losing 3-1 to Everton.

Paul Warne will be able to take plenty of positives going into the game against the Latics at the DW Stadium.

Warne’s men showed how well they are capable of playing against Premier League opposition on Wednesday evening and Millers boss will have taken plenty positives from the game.

Speaking after the game on Wednesday evening Warne spoke about some team news and said defender Joe Mattock is a doubt after limping out of the warm-up at Everton.

“He’s a doubt on two-folds, one Robbo (Clark Robertson) did really well (at left-back) and two he’s really sore and the next game is coming very quickly and I like players who are going to play to train. So that makes him a massive doubt.” Warne revealed.

It appears that Rotherham are trying to conclude a deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates and should the deal be done in time he could make his debut on Saturday afternoon.

The Opposition:

Wigan Athletic will be with out striker Devante Cole after the striker joined Burton Albion on a season-long loan deal on Thursday.

The Latics who only have two wins all season will be looking to make amends for falling short against QPR last Saturday.

Predicted Rotherham XI: Rodak; Vyner, Ajayi, Wood, Robertson; Taylor, Palmer, Manning, Vaulks, Williams; Smith.

I feel it will be a tough game for Rotherham and with a very quick turnaround will Paul Warne’s men be ready from the off in this encounter?

I believe they will and will pick up three crucial points.

Wigan Athletic 1-2 Rotherham
